Role: Commercial Solar Project Manager


Position Overview: The Commercial Solar Project Manager will work very closely with the operations team to ensure every step of the project goes smoothly. This role oversees structural engineering coordination, roof quality inspections permitting, project inspections, warranty compliance, scheduling, and project closeout to ensure smooth execution, thorough documentation, and successful client handoff for construction projects. Someone who has a positive attitude, works well with others, and knows how to motivate others within their team will thrive in this position.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Structural Engineering Coordination


  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and structural engineers.
  • Coordinate structural assessments, stamped drawings, and ensure timely delivery of all structural documents.
  • Track and manage engineering RFIs and change orders throughout the project.


Roof Warranty & Inspection Management


  • Review and maintain documentation related to existing roof warranties.
  • Coordinate pre and postconstruction roof inspections with manufacturers or third parties.
  • Ensure proper protocols are followed to maintain roof warranty compliance during and after installation.

Permitting & Inspections


  • Prepare and submit permit applications to local AHJs.
  • Track and manage permit status through approval.
  • Schedule and coordinate all required inspections, including building, electrical, and fire, as applicable.
  • Maintain compliance documentation for inspection outcomes.

Scheduling & Documentation


  • Develop and maintain schedules for inspections and project milestone tasks under the PM�s scope.
  • Communicate scheduling needs clearly with field teams, subcontractors, and clients.


Project Client Manual & Documentation


  • Compile and deliver the Project Client Manual, including warranty information, asbuilts, O&M documentation, inspection records, and final permits.
  • Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and provided to the client in a timely manner.


Project Closeout & Client Coordination


  • Coordinate and lead the final Project Closeout Call with the client.
  • Confirm all punch list items are addressed prior to closeout.
  • Ensure all project documents and deliverables have been submitted and acknowledged by the client.

Required Qualifications:


  • 35+ years of project management experience, preferably in commercial solar, construction, or roofing.
  • Familiarity with structural engineering workflows and permitting processes.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheets, Procore, or similar).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stay ahead of deadlines.


Compensation: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year


  • Must be within commutable distance for inoffice work. Preferably in office fulltime, but open to a hybrid schedule.
