Why does the job exist?
This position assists the Office of the Secretary (OOTS) and the Executive Team (i.e., Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Division Directors, Legal Director, Director of Communications, Chief Information Officer, Special Projects Coordinator and Director of Strategic Initiatives), reports to the Director of Strategic Initiatives, and leads the Constituent Services and Performance Reporting areas. This requires timely and effective responses to constituent inquiries and complaints from the Governor's Office, website, or received by others in the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED). Developing responses, tracking, reporting and providing support for public inquiries received by the agency. The position also tracks, coordinates and reports on the agency's performance reporting, including tracking, coordinating and drafting monthly, quarterly and annual performance reporting, assisting in developing and compiling presentations for internal and external Interim Committee and Legislative meetings. Supporting the OOTS Legislative Tracking Office during the legislative session. Additionally, this position may assist with the agency's Tribal outreach efforts, as needed and in collaboration with our Tribal Liaison.

Ideal Candidate
Minimum Qualification
Associate's Degree and three (3) years of experience in program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Any combination of education and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course certificate as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required.
