POSITION REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, sociology, or related field; advanced degree preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in early childhood program setting with birth to 5 year old's, basic computer skills, data collection, an insured vehicle and driver's license.
BASIC PURPOSE: To support the classroom of high needs children at certain transitions and to be in the classroom for “short-term†extended periods of time to support the implementation of individuals behavior plans and /or classroom plans focused on emotional regulation and maintaining safety.
Review individual mental health referrals and consultation notes for assigned child.
Support children and classroom teachers to implement suggested recommendations with fidelity.
Provide ongoing assessment as needed in the classroom or home setting as appropriate.
Under the direction of the Mental Health Manager, assist in the development and the implementation of individual strength-based behavior plans in conjunction with the child’s teacher, Head Teacher, Family Worker, parents and other staff/consultants as appropriate; assist in identifying appropriate intervention or referrals.
Prepare and confidentially maintain all mental health records, report statistics and other data for supervision and funding purposes.
Supervision of children is everyone’s responsibility.
