We are seeking a

Civil Designer with a versatile skill set to join our growing team. This role will support the design, drafting, and field-testing aspects of civil and geotechnical projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers and project managers to develop detailed design documents, assist with CAD production, and perform construction materials testing in both field and lab environments.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a combination of office-based design and hands-on field work.


Key Responsibilities


Design & CAD Production


  • Assist in the design of civil infrastructure projects including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control
  • Produce accurate and detailed drawings using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
  • Collaborate with engineers to interpret designs and ensure compliance with project requirements and standards
  • Prepare plan sets and construction documents for submittal and permitting
  • Perform quantity take-offs and contribute to cost estimates


Construction Materials Testing (CMT)


  • Conduct field and laboratory testing on soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and project specifications
  • Document daily field activities and prepare detailed, timely reports of test results and site observations
  • Interface with construction crews and subcontractors to ensure adherence to specifications and best practices
  • Assist in maintaining and calibrating testing equipment


Required Qualifications


  • Associate�s degree or technical diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in civil design, construction testing, or a related field
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred)
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and standards
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
  • Valid driver�s license with clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel to field sites as needed (occasional overnight stays may be required)


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor�s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with MicroStation, GIS, or Revit
  • NICET or ACI certifications in construction materials testing
  • Familiarity with DOT specifications (e.g., KYTC, INDOT, ODOT, etc.)
  • OSHA 10/30-hour certification

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
