Under direct supervision, these positions (Ongoing and Initial Assessment) prepare studies of individuals and families in need of social services, make recommendations regarding the range of services needed, maintain case records and plan appropriate client services in conjunction with the supervisor.
-Accept requests and referrals for services and determine through interviews, home visits and collateral investigations the range of services needed.
-Interview clients, evaluate intake information and determine client needs.
-Explain the scope of services offered and discuss the client's rights and responsibilities in relation to his/her use of such services.
-Assist in planning services appropriate to client's problems, maintain client contact and review and modify plans as necessary.
-Prepare studies of individuals and families in need of services and recommend and appropriate course of action.
-Maintain accurate and current case records, reports and other types of correspondence.
-Attend in-service training and staff development activities.
-May speak before community groups on specific social problems and services.
-Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
-Bachelor's of Social Work degree (BSW) from four-year college or university, preferred; or Bachelor's Degree and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience that will allow gaining a state of Wisconsin Social Work License within two years of employment.
-One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
