The Chief of Guest Services & Education is a key member of the Senior Leadership team, dedicated to creating an outstanding and dynamic visitor experience at both Myriad Garden and Scissortail Park. This role is a leading advocate for all visitors, ensuring their diverse needs, interests, and abilities are met. The Chief is responsible for the strategic vision and day-to-day management of all educational programs and visitor services, with the ultimate goal of fostering a deep and lasting engagement with the parks.
This position oversees all visitor-facing operations, including admissions, retail, concessions, and park attractions like boat rentals and the skating rink. The Chief also manages the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers, ensuring they are effectively integrated into the organization’s operations.
The ideal candidate is an innovative and strategic manager with a passion for customer service, a deep understanding of team building, and a proven ability to achieve long-term objectives. They will have a background in a cultural, entertainment, arts, or hospitality environment where delivering a superior visitor experience is paramount.
· Lead and manage all visitor services, including admissions, ticketing, and retail operations (gift shop, concessions, attractions).
· Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
· Serve as the expert for the admissions ticketing system, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless reception for group visits and special events.
· Develop and implement strategies to increase visitation.
· Analyze sales data and prepare reports to track revenue and inform budget management.
· Work collaboratively with education and horticulture teams to create cutting-edge, mission-related programming and interpretation.
· Oversee all educational programming, including adult and youth education, outreach, and group tours.
· Design and execute a master education and interpretive plan to engage diverse audiences and create new formalized learning experiences.
· Evaluate all programs to measure efficacy, return on investment, and community impact.
· Assess the organization's needs and capacity for volunteers.
· Lead the volunteer program, including recruitment, placement, training, and recognition.
· Create and maintain all volunteer program materials, such as job descriptions, policies, and training handbooks.
· Conduct community outreach to meet organizational volunteer needs.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferred with a bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Hospitality Management, Museum Studies, Education, Business Administration) preferred.·
Skills:o Excellent leadership, communication, and financial management skills.

o Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
o A valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
This role requires the ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, and may involve sitting or standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The ability to walk between different park facilities is essential. As a 7-day-a-week operation, weekend and evening work is expected.
