Overview

The Chief Development Officer (CDO) will work closely with the CEO and serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. They will be responsible for spearheading the clinic’s strategic growth and expansion initiatives. This dynamic leader will identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and drive expansion efforts to enhance the clinic’s market presence and long-term financial performance in new areas and territories throughout the state of North Carolina.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies that align with the clinic’s mission, vision, and financial goals.

• Identify, evaluate, and pursue strategic opportunities, including acquisitions, to grow the clinic�s services and footprint.
  
• Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, physicians, healthcare systems, community leaders, and regulatory bodies.
  
• Lead complex negotiations related to contracts and affiliations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.
  
• Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, and regulatory changes to inform strategic planning and mitigate potential risks.
  
• Collaborate with the CEO, President, and other senior leaders to integrate financial planning and operational strategies into growth initiatives.
  
• Prepare and deliver regular updates and performance reports to the CEO, President, and executive team.
  

Qualifications Education:* Master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field strongly preferred.

• A bachelor�s degree combined with extensive relevant experience may be considered.
  

Experience:* Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in business development or strategic growth roles within the healthcare industry.

• At least 5 years of executive-level leadership experience in a for-profit healthcare setting.
  
• Demonstrated success in driving acquisitions and strategic alliances.
  

Skills & Competencies:* Deep knowledge of U.S. healthcare market dynamics, provider networks, start-up clinics, and regulatory frameworks.

• Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with a history of motivating cross-functional teams.
  
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  
• Strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving strengths.
  
• Adept in using CRM platforms, market research tools, and standard business productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
