Certified Veterinary Technician - ICU - Day Shift (4/10s)

Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency and Referral (BVER) is a specialty animal hospital located in Portland Oregon. Our hospital team includes highly skilled veterinarians specializing in Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Ophthalmology and are supported by dedicated technicians and support staff.

Who are we looking for right now?

Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency & Referral is looking for experienced Certified Veterinary Technicians, for our ICU team. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in ER/ICU preferred.

• Monitor and care for hospitalized and critical patients
  
• Perform diagnostic tests and procedures and alert DVM of abnormal results
  
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by DVM
  
• Provide support and education to pet owners
  
• Maintain accurate medical records utilizing Smartflow and EzyVet software
  

• Valid certification as a Veterinary Technician in the state of Oregon (CVT)
  
• Prior experience in a specialty veterinary hospital required
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure
  
• Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills, including advanced intravenousand arterial catheter and sampling line placement skills preferred
  
• Strong knowledge of medications and potentialdrug interactions
  
• Confidentwith use of Vasopressors and CRI calculations
  
• Strong foundation of common lifesaving procedures including chest taps, urinary deobstruction, blood transfusions, and CPR
  
• Assisting and monitoring of surgical and sedated procedures, including management of high-riskASA patients. Additional anesthesia training provided.
  

What can BVER offer?

Starting: $30+ per hour (based on experience) + $5 differential from 10p-6a
