Schedule appointment times and dates for all inpatient and outpatient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions in collaboration with Ancillary Departments.
Gather all necessary patient demographic information and process data in accordance with established procedures. Coordinate and confirm schedules with physicians while advising patients as needed.
Prepare consolidated scheduling reports and distribute copies to relevant departments. Inform patients about Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance requirements and provisions.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, along with completion of a course in Medical Terminology or proven working knowledge of the terminology.
Experience:
Preferred one year of experience in hospital admissions and insurance processing. Must possess effective communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a keen attention to detail.
