Checking out customers as well as Customer Service are the main responsibilities of this position.
â–ªmaintain clean and orderly checkout areas with adequate cash
â–ª count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
â–ª greet customers entering the storeâ–ª process payments by cash, check, credit cards, and charge accountsâ–ª issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers
â–ª count money, sort charge slips and balance moniesâ–ª calculate total payments received during a time period, and reconcile this with total salesâ–ª fulfil customer needs to include location of product, value added suggestions and complaint resolution
â–ª demonstrate use and operation of products, describe a product's features and benefits to include warranties, maintenance, and any pertinent product details, bag or package purchases and offer customers carry-out service
â–ª stay current with sale products and pricesâ–ª recognize and monitor security issues
â–ª arrange and display merchandise to include keeping merchandise area tidy and marking prices on shelves and items
â–ª take stock inventory, restock shelves and requisition new stock
â–ª other duties as assigned
â–ª high school diploma or equivalent required
â–ª 2+ years customer service experience required
â–ª strong communication and interpersonal skillsâ–ª basic computer, cash register, and math skills
â–ª adaptability, initiative, work ethic
â–ª must be able to stand for long periods, bend and lift up to 50 lbs
