SUPERVISOR: Career and Technical Education Café Supervisor
SUMMARY: Perform a variety of customer service, food preparation, and cleaning duties in a team environment. Ensure that high quality and great value food and drink are prepared and served to café customers from a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job; not all tasks may be performed by each employee. Duties and assignments may vary. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only.
Run the POS system (cash register) along with cash handling. [Daily, 15%]
Provide a positive customer service experience for all guests. [Daily, 15%]
Follow proper food handling and food safety procedures. [Daily, 15%]
Keep the café clean and organized during and after service times. [Daily, 15%]
Communicate as a team member with other student café workers and direct café supervisor. [Daily, 15%]
Demonstrate professionalism including proper uniform, communication (language), and reliability. [Daily, 15%]
Keep proper food inventory and re-stock grab & go, reach in cooler, etc. [Daily, 5%]
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum completion of middle school education.
No experience required.
Able to handle customer interactions professionally
Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
All certifications, licenses, and registrations must be valid and unexpired.
Maintain or ability to acquire ServSafe Food Handler certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CCIC Hospitality and Tourism pathway student.
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Moderate physical effort (must be able to lift up to 30 pounds).
Prolonged standing/walking.
Repetitive bending, reaching, and pulling.
Eye/hand coordination for register and computer operation.
