The Perfusionist, under the direction of CV surgeons, operates cardiopulmonary bypass machine to provide cardiopulmonary perfusion during open-heart surgery.

What you will do in this role:

• Operates cell salvage machines during all necessary surgical procedures.
  
• Operates cardiopulmonary support devices (i.e., VAD, IABP) when necessary.
  
• Performs laboratory tests necessary during perfusion procedures (i.e., ABG, ACT).
  
• Communicates with CV surgeons, anesthesia personnel and OR staff concerning needs of patients served.
  

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  
• Certified Clinical Perfusionist must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  
• Perfusionist must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  
• Bachelors Degree
