This is a CAD drafting role involving sheet metal, coils and electrical drawings. The role is often required to interpret basic engineering or architectural sketches and develop CAD drawings. Successful candidate must be a people person to be able to work with various internal and external customers.
- Model sheet metal parts, coils, and assemblies
- Manage revisions and redlines
- Work with various regulatory and industry organizations
- Work with offshore engineering teams
- Work with sales, marketing, manufacturing, finance, supply-chain and other departments
- Associate degree or certificate in Mechanical Drafting, Drafting and Design Technology, CAD Tech, Engineering Tech, or Architecture or Construction Tech preferred
- On-the-job experience can be considered in lieu of formal education
- ERP or PDM software familiarity
- 2 to 5 years of experience
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
- Understanding of technical drawings, i.e. blueprints, schematics, dimensioning standards
- Knowledge of drafting standards (ANSI, ISO, ASME)
- Familiar with industry specific codes or practices like sheet metal tolerancing, manufacturing process, electric schematic symbols, NEC codes
- Ability to interpret engineering or architectural sketches
- Strong attention to detail
- Time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Problem solving skills for design corrections and revisions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Working in HVAC industry is a plus
- Understand airflow, coil arrangement, CFM, tonnage, pressure drop etc.
- Familiarity with UL, AHRI, ASHRAE and other HVAC standards is a bonus
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
