Brewer III

Founded in 2008, AKM LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of FedUp Foods PBC, is one of the nation's early producers of kombucha and now one of the largest functional beverage manufacturers in the U.S. We offer a diverse portfolio of organic private-label functional beverages for top global retailers.

The Brewer III is a subject matter expert in kombucha brewing, leading daily operations, driving continuous improvement, and developing team members. This role ensures all brewing products are produced on time, in full, and error-free, while upholding quality, safety, and efficiency standards.

• Maintain a clean, food-safe workspace
  
• Lead daily/weekly equipment cleaning and deep sanitation
  
• Ensure chemical training and usage are properly managed
  
• Promote PPE compliance and safety reporting
  
• Train new hires on safety procedures
  

• Maintain and update SOPs and Work Instructions
  
• Oversee daily brewing operations and scheduling
  
• Lead and train others on CIP procedures and sanitation standards
  
• Monitor tank cooling and fermentation, escalate issues as needed
  
• Serve as a NetSuite Super User: inventory entry, accuracy, and training
  
• Manage base product transfers, filtration, and carbonation standards
  
• Communicate with flavor kitchen and coordinate schedule changes
  
• Troubleshoot cross-departmental equipment or system issues
  
• Drive continuous improvement via CAPAs and efficiency gains
  
• Ensure accurate inventory management and reporting
  
• Collaborate with purchasing and warehouse teams
  
• Participate in improvement projects (DMAIC, Kaizen)
  

• Perform and support basic equipment repairs and preventive maintenance
  
• Escalate major equipment issues to the Maintenance team
  
• Support environmental and sustainability standards, including spent tea and waste management
  

• Support water, ingredient, and energy reduction efforts
  
• Lead or assist in SOP improvements related to loss prevention
  
• Track and escalate loss anomalies
  

• Follow and enforce GMPs
  
• Uphold SQF-related policies (allergens, sanitation, pest control)
  
• Report quality/safety concerns to QA for CAPA investigation
  
• Actively support continuous food safety and quality improvement
  

• Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, dump trailers preferred
  
• Strong problem-solving and innovation mindset
  
• High standard of cleanliness and organization
  
• ERP/spreadsheet proficiency (NetSuite a plus)
  
• Strong awareness of safety risks and precautions
  
• Collaborative, team-oriented, and positive communication
  
• Ability to train and lead others
  
• Flexible and able to work variable schedules as needed
  

• High school diploma or GED required
  
• Minimum 2 years of brewing-related experience
  
• Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
  

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, push/pull, and lift up to 65 lbs
  
• Able to work in hot, cold, or wet environments
  
• Must be able to drive a truck and trailer for hauling spent tea
  
• 30-minute unpaid lunch, plus two paid 15-minute breaks
