POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the direction of the YMCA 21st CCLC Program Director, this position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This position assists the YMCA 21st CCLC Program Director and Executive Director of PA Child Care with activities/services based on the grant guidelines/regulations for site/child care location(s) as well as overseeing the daily operations of the YMCA 21st CCLC Program at site location. Additionally, this position holds responsibilities for working in Bradford YMCA Programs as deemed necessary during required hours of operation.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


1. Responsible for the safety of the children at all times, including being able to implement emergency procedures and use logical risk management.


2. Interact positively with the children daily, displaying the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all program activities.


3. Assists site staff members with program lesson plans for the assigned program activity ensuring that the program meets the highest quality standards as recommended by the grant guidelines and the YMCA.


4. Perform specific tasks related to the daily operation of the YMCA 21st CCLC Program site such as administering group activities, arts and crafts preparation, meal service, positive discipline strategies, and other tasks as assigned by the YMCA 21st CCLC Director.


5. Document each child's attendance, incidents, accident reports, CACFP meal counts etc., in compliance with state requirements.


6. Consults with the Program’s Director, principals, and teachers to ensure the program goals are being met.


7. Manages site instructors and support staff at the 21st CCLC site, overseeing tasks such as interviewing, hiring recommendations, completing partnership agreements, class observations, performance monitoring, workload assessment, schedule creation, evaluations, training, and record maintenance with assistance from the Program Director.


8. Ensure accuracy of attendance records


9. Assist staff in delivering all program services.


10. Oversees daily-operations of site location.


11. Coordinates the implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.


12. Monitors the instructional delivery to targeted students.


13.Attends weekly meetings with the Program Director.


14. Assist Program Director with planning/implementation of all Staff Development Trainings.


15. Supervise and maintain the appearance of the site, ensuring a high quality of supplies, equipment and materials. Create an attractive, clean, organized, welcoming room for children. Light maintenance tasks such as sweeping, cleaning tables, and garbage removal are also expected.


16. Work as a team with other child care staff.


17. Attend staff meetings and in-service workshops to meet additional training requirements established by the YMCA and YMCA 21st CCLC Program.


18. Attend parent-child events and other events related to your program, as requested by the YMCA 21st CCLC Director.


19. Be professional, alert and eliminate unsafe practices and physical hazards.


20. Carry out additional assignments and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor and/or CEO.


HOURS OF POSITION:


This is a part-time position. This position MUST work in-person at the site location during 21st CCLC Program Hours. This position is a maximum of 20 hours per/week for 40 weeks of the academic school-year. This position is also required to work at the site location during the YMCA 21st CCLC Summer Programming, a 4-week position during the Summer.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Ideal candidates look to develop self & others, hold an associate's degree in human services, business, social services or equivalent (BS Preferred), or have three or more years of professional experience in the planning and implementation of youth programs, understand the nature and purpose of the YMCA and the respective roles of volunteers and staff, and have the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community; track record of building authentic, constructive relationships with others. Prior to the start of employment, documentation of state clearances must be on-file.
