Seeking a full-time Botanical Gardener to work on the botanical collection and grounds of Waimea Valley. The gardener's primary objective is to preserve, enhance, cultivate, and care for plants in the botanical collections to work a 40-hour work week, 8 hours per day.
- Familiar with gardening tools and equipment used to cultivate and care for the botanical collections.
- Knowledge of tropical gardening practices.
- Ability to read and understand chemical labels and SDS sheets and apply fertilizers and pesticides to maintain plant collections and property.
- People-oriented and able to work well with others
- Good oral communication skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in tropical gardening and excel in chainsaw use
