Position: High School Biology Teacher


Location: Bath High School School


Start Date: 2025-2026 School Year


Salary: per BEA Master Agreement, dependent upon experience and educational attainment.


Qualifications:


  • Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with an endorsement of Science (DX), Integrated Science (DI), or Biology (DA).
  • Successful completion of student teaching required. Successful classroom teaching experience preferred.
  • Competency in student management and supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, staff and parents


Essential Functions


  • Teaches knowledge and skills in one or more fields of science, including general science, environmental science, biology, and anatomy and physiology, in accordance with the district and state curriculum.
  • Promotes critical and creative thinking and analysis in all related subject areas.
  • Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small- group instruction, and student learning.
  • Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of science to everyday existence, including scientific research projects, demonstrations, experiments, and laboratory activities.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and employs data-driven strategies to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn and apply behavioral and academic MTSS models
  • Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings.
  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
  • Ensures effective communication with students and parents.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues and administrators to improve student achievement.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor with reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Completes assigned duties that contribute to the district�s mission and vision.
