The Billing Specialist completes insurance verifications and insurance appeals for denied claims to ensure timely management our Accounts Receivable (AR) System. This individual provides excellent customer service to clients, insurance companies, and internal departments.
Job Duties:
Verify eligibility, benefits, and authorization information for new client accounts.
Verify provider credentials to ensure payer requirements are followed for accurate scheduling.
Prepare and submit billing data and claims to insurance companies.
Resolve claim denials, requests for additional information, and non-payment in a timely manner.
Communicate concerns that may lead to inaccurate or untimely completion of reimbursement processing to the appropriate individuals.
Call insurance companies regarding payment discrepancies as needed.
Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.
Answer patient and/or insurance inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts.
Reviewing patient bills for accuracy, completeness, and obtaining any missing information.
Other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Billing and/or Intake experience is required; three years preferred.
High school degree / GED or equivalent is required. Continuing education or coursework in finance or accounting is preferred.
Working knowledge of or experience with insurance reimbursements, implications of industry change, etc.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Hybrid work environment (primarily in-office during busy times, with remote opportunities).
Company-issued laptop.
Must be available during core work hours as directed by leadership and attend all necessary meetings as needed.
