Starting Wage Range for position: $18.00-$20.70 Based on Experience

The Billing & Reimbursement Specialist position processes third party claim submissions and follows-up on accounts regarding billing. This position provides support to the overall operations within the Billing Department to ensure that timely billing and collections for services are completed.

Here are some of the job duties that come with this position:

• Verifies Insurance and completes predetermination for services. Obtains Prior Authorization and Manage Care Referrals as necessary
  
• Reviews all patient/customer referrals to determine if payment source/preauthorization data is adequate and correct
  
• Generates bills and statements, assuring timely filing of insurance claims
  
• Provides follow-up on patient accounts; prepares patient billings, or insurance re-bills, as necessary
  
• Monitors A/R charge submissions and conducts collections activity
  
• Prepares and enters patient/customer charges
  
• Serves as a resource to patients, family members, management and staff on payor and governmental compliance issues
  
• Responds to questions and resolves issues related to:
  

+ Patient/customer insurance claims

+ Part C reimbursement

+ Title XIX payments

+ Routing charges

+ Financial procedures

Requirements

Education and Experience

A High School degree/GED is required. Any post-secondary accounting education or prior insurance billing and reimbursement experience is preferred. Knowledge and/or experience with the services provided by LifeScape or similar organization is required.
