We are seeking a

skilled Bench Jeweler with at least 3 years of experience who is passionate about fine craftsmanship, problem-solving, and bringing jewelry designs to life.


Responsibilities


  • Perform stone setting with precision, including prong, bezel, channel, flush, pavé, and tension settings.
  • Execute soldering, fabrication, and assembly with minimal cleanup and high accuracy.
  • Complete repairs and restorations, including resizing, prong retipping, re-shanking, chain and clasp repairs.
  • Achieve high-quality finishing and polishing, including multiple textures and surface finishes.
  • Collaborate with designers and sales staff on custom and repair projects.
  • Maintain bench tools, shop organization, and safe handling of all customer and company pieces.
  • Inspect and perform quality control on all work to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic excellence.
  • Troubleshoot bench challenges, such as casting imperfections or alignment issues, to ensure timely completion.


Key Skills & Expertise


Technical Craftsmanship & Stone Setting


  • Confident in prong, bezel, channel, flush, pavé, and tension settings
  • Precision in setting both melee and larger stones


Metalworking & Soldering


  • Fabrication of jewelry from raw materials (wire, sheet, casting grain)
  • Soldering with minimal cleanup and strong torch control


Finishing & Repair


  • Proficiency in high-polish and specialty finishes
  • Skilled in ring resizing, prong retipping, and vintage piece restoration


Tool & Equipment Proficiency


  • Experienced with gravers, burrs, saws, flex shaft, and polishing motors
  • Laser welding experience preferred; CAD familiarity is a plus


Attention to Detail & Quality Control


  • Strong understanding of tolerances, symmetry, and gem security standards
  • Material and gemstone knowledge for safe handling during repair or setting


Qualifications


  • Minimum 3 years of bench jeweler experience (custom or repair environment preferred)
  • Strong understanding of precious metals and gemstones
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional shop environment
  • Commitment to craftsmanship, precision, and meeting deadlines
