Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Behavior Technician (Outreach) for the GSAPP - Douglass Developmental Disabailities Center.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:* Implements a variety of behavior analytic strategies to support successful outcomes for children with autism across the areas of skill acquisition and/or behavior reduction in home-based settings.

• Collects, interprets and, with oversight from the board certified behavior analyst (BCBA), analyzes behavioral data.
  
• Contributes to the development of behavior analytic instructional programming under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst.
  

FLSA Nonexempt

Salary Details $17.00/hour

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent, and/or up to 4 years of relevant experience.
  

Certifications/Licenses

• Valid driver�s license and use of personal vehicle to travel to client�s home.
  

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• High level of organization.
  
• Ability to work independently.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 6 months of prior experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in an ABA setting.
  
• Current certification or willingness to become certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
  

Equipment Utilized

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be physically active and be on your feet most of the day. (Duties may involve running and playing active games with individuals with autism (ages 3 1/2 - 21 years or adults).
  
• Following training must be physically capable of safely providing crisis management techniques including restraining, lifting, and blocking individuals with challenging behaviors.
