Wage: $18 to $23/Hour DOE


Qualifications


  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Valid driver�s license


Preferred Education and Experience


  • Enrolled in college/university, or RBT certified, or willing to obtain RBT within 6 months of hire.
  • Bachelor�s degree in psychology or related field
  • Experience implementing ABA programs
  • One year of experience/exposure to autism or developmental disabilities professionally or personally (e.g., through family/friends)


Behavior Technician Job Description


Behavior Technicians (BTs) will work under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst. They are responsible for providing direct behavioral therapy to individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. BT's implement Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) programs, as written by the BA. BT’s will be responsible for data gathering, teaching life skills and remediating skill deficits and eliminating problem behaviors. Must possess strong clinical documentation skills, interpersonal skills, and excellent boundary setting skills.


Responsibilities and Duties


  • If not already, RBTs are to complete their medication certification and is CPR certified.
  • Responsible for implementing behavior plans and skill acquisition programs developed by a qualified Behavior Analysis Supervisor
  • Conducts preference, reinforcer, and other assessments as directed by assigned Behavior Analyst
  • Actively takes data and maintains records to be reviewed at least monthly with assigned Behavior Analyst.
  • Implements client programs with integrity ensuring active therapy occurs to assist in goal achievement
  • Participate in team meetings and communications with support team members, and Behavior Analysis Supervisor to provide routine updates on progress
  • Assist individuals with developmental disabilities and their support staff, either directly or indirectly, to find meaningful lasting connections in their own programing
  • Implement crisis/emergency procedures according to protocols established by Behavior Analysis Supervisor
  • Maintain excellent attendance for the sake of our client�s success
  • Understand and abide by BACB Code of Ethics, MME Policies and Procedures, & all other regulatory standards
  • Assist the BA in training all staff during orientation as well as providing ongoing trainings as requested by the BA throughout the year related to behavior functions and emotional regulation skills.
  • Work independently and make decisions within the framework of established guidelines
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
