The Automotive Porter is a key support role responsible for the efficient and orderly movement of vehicles, maintaining the cleanliness of the dealership grounds, and assisting both staff and customers. This position is vital to the smooth operation of the dealership, ensuring that vehicles are ready for sale and service, and that the premises are always presentable.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Vehicle Movement & Organization:
  • Move new and used vehicles between the showroom, service bays, storage lots, and other designated areas.
  • Maintain a neat and organized vehicle lot, ensuring all vehicles are properly parked and displayed according to dealership standards.
  • Ensure all vehicles have the correct stickers, buyer's guides, and other required information displayed.
  • Keep accurate records of vehicle locations and movements.
  • Start vehicles on a regular basis to ensure batteries remain charged and to identify any potential issues.


Dealership & Vehicle Maintenance:


  • Check and replenish vehicle fluids (oil, washer fluid, etc.) as needed.
  • Assist with minor vehicle maintenance tasks, such as replacing batteries or windshield wiper blades.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and order of the dealership's interior and exterior, including sweeping floors, removing trash, and clearing debris from lots.


Customer & Staff Support:


  • Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner and assist them with their needs.
  • Provide shuttle service for customers, driving them to and from their homes or work.
  • Run errands for the dealership, such as picking up parts or supplies.
  • Assist service technicians and service staff as needed.


Safety & Compliance:


  • Operate all vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and dealership policies.
  • Report any damage to vehicles or property immediately to management.


Qualifications:


  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is a plus, but not required.


Skills:


  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle care and maintenance.


Requirements:


  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
