Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting and financial management, with a strong understanding of both non-profit and governmental accounting practices. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity of our organization and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Controller will oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while providing strategic insights to support decision-making.


Duties


  • Manage the overall accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, SOX, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Oversee cash management processes to optimize liquidity and financial stability.
  • Develop budgets and forecasts to guide financial planning and resource allocation.
  • Perform financial analysis and account analysis to identify trends and variances.
  • Implement and maintain accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and ensure proper documentation.
  • Collaborate with auditors during annual audits to ensure compliance with public accounting standards.


Requirements


  • Bachelor�s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, or governmental accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, cash management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in financial report writing with excellent analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with various accounting software systems (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) is essential.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and technical accounting standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High level of financial acumen and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
