Hughes Bros. is an aggregate and redi-mix concrete supplier and earthwork contractor located in Hampden, Maine, with a team of over 50 employees that serve the Bangor region. We are currently seeking to fill the position of Assistant Truck Dispatcher who will be responsible for efficient dispatch of a fleet of 10 trucks supporting aggregate operations and a concrete plant. Assistant Dispatcher is also responsible for mobilizing equipment to construction sites, sales calls, loading small trucks with a small loader, performing some grounds maintenance such as use of a water truck and bush hog, and customer relations.
Responsibilities
Candidate must possess good interpersonal skills, work well and effectively with the public by phone or in person, and be capable of multi-tasking in a fast paced environment. The Dispatcher is responsible for receiving, evaluating, and dispatching messages, tracking locations of trucks, coordinating trucks and equipment with site crews, and supporting local customer service. Other duties include invoicing, scale operations, and general yard management.
The Materials Manager will assist the Assistant Truck Dispatcher on a day to day basis as a team.
Desired Education, Skills and Experience
Applicant should possess a minimum 3 years in aggregate materials construction or truck dispatch
Knowledge and experience working with sand, gravel, stone and dump trucks
Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations
Basic Computer Skills
Ability to work well with others
Pay is commensurate upon education and experience
