Job Description:


The Assistant Toddler Teacher provides support to the Lead Teacher by helping to create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating learning environment where children are actively engaged. The teacher assistant is to promote an environment that supports children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development; to nurture positive relationships with children, families and colleagues. The teacher assistant must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Use understanding of child development as the foundation of work with young children.
  • Effective pedagogical approaches including developmentally appropriate practices and research-based curriculum and PA early learning standards to create meaningful learning experiences for children.
  • Create a safe and fun learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain respectful and collaborative relationships with families.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children and families.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records


QUALIFICATIONS:

Salary: $16.75 - $18.00 per hour determined by experience
