Duties: Plans, directs, and coordinates maintenance services activities including building maintenance, electrical and HVAC work, janitorial, garage, and warehouse. Practices efficiency and economy in the use of materials, equipment and personnel. This leadership role supports the Director of Maintenance in managing daily activities, staff supervision, resource allocation, and ensuring high standards of service across a variety of public infrastructure and maintenance services. Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with city policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues effectively. Ensure compliance with City policies, labor laws, safety regulations and operational efficiency standards across all maintenance service areas. Assist in budget preparation, resource planning, and implementation of strategic initiatives. Monitors expenditures and assists in managing budgets for materials, equipment, and staffing; recommends and initiates approved operational changes. Assists in drafting specifications for City vehicles and equipment; may recommend contract and bid awards. Supports procurement processes for maintenance equipment and materials in alignment with City purchasing policies. Investigates and resolves major complaints related to maintenance services; takes corrective actions as needed. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Works the assigned schedule and complies with City timekeeping and attendance policy.


Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 4 years' experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Texas Driver's License and good driving record. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to interpret and enforce policies, manage conflict, and motivate a diverse team. Microsoft Office Suite skills - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., with an ability to become familiar with company-specific programs and software. PREFERRED: Experience working in a municipality. Knowledge of municipal maintenance operations, fleet management, and facility services. Relevant certifications in maintenance, facilities management, or public works.
