The Assistant Counsel II is a vital part of the Atlanta Housing (“AHâ€) in-house legal team devoted to preserving and creating affordable housing resources throughout the city of Atlanta. This legal support facilitates affordable housing resources for nearly 26,000 low-income households comprised of approximately 50,000 people. The incumbent provides complex contract negotiations and drafting expertise, regulatory interpretation, and strategic and legal advice on procurement solicitations. The Assistant Counsel II also provides oral and written advice to AH Business Units in matters relating to governmental regulations, corporate governance, privacy, ethics and other legal matters impacting the business of AH, as directed.
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Counsel II include, but are not limited to, the following, as may be assigned by the Deputy General Counsel:
Work in a standard corporate office, although, there is currently an ability to work in a hybrid home office and in-office environment. The office environment is moderately paced with multi-task working conditions. May require frequent bending, stooping, reaching and prolonged sitting and/or standing. May require regular lifting usually not exceeding 15 lbs. Some travel may be required. May require a valid State of Georgia driver's license and must be fully insurable for the purpose of obtaining clearance on AH’s authorized drivers list. May spend extended periods of time reading, reviewing, researching and writing legal and related corporate documents.
