Asphalt Laborer

Established in 2018, Florida Asphalt & Concrete (FAC) was formed to meet the immense demand for commercial asphalt paving and concrete solutions across Central Florida. Currently serving Hillsborough, Pinellas, Hernando, Citrus, Pasco, Manatee, Polk, Hardee, Orange, Lee and Sarasota counties providing the infrastructure that makes modern life possible.

With state-of-the-art technology, FAC has the crews and equipment suitable for a variety of development projects ranging from public work (federal, county, city projects) to private single businesses, multi business office parks, and apartments to subdivision communities.

Guided by Senior Management, FAC has a team that is equipped to provide efficient budget and timeline solutions for contracts ranging upward of $20 million dollars in size. FAC is a member of the Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida.

The Asphalt Laborer plays a critical role in paving operations, supporting the crew by preparing surfaces, assisting machine operators, handling tools and materials, and maintaining a safe job site.

• Prepare paving zones by clearing debris, sweeping, and leveling the surface.
  
• Off‑load and transport tools, equipment, and asphalt to the paver.
  
• Spread, rake, and fine‑grade asphalt; assist screed operator and compact as directed.
  
• Build launch pads, move end gate material, and support proper mat formation.
  
• Set up and dismantle traffic control devices (cones, barricades, signs); perform flagging duties as needed.
  
• Deliver water to rollers, plate compactors, power brooms; maintain dust control and clean work areas.
  
• Assist with minor equipment maintenance, tool cleaning, and staging of materials.
  
• Follow all company safety protocols, report unsafe conditions immediately.
  

• Previous paving or construction experience beneficial but not required.
  
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50-75 lbs repeatedly, stand, bend, stoop, squat for extended periods.
  
• Comfortable working in extreme weather and near hot asphalt, traffic, and dust
  
• Valid driver�s license required; Class A/B CDL preferred, where applicable.
  
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and (if required) background check and physical exam.
  
• Reliable, punctual, able to work long hours, nights, weekends, and occasional travel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
