ASL Interpreter (DHH)

Select Savvy is looking for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school setting in Sandwich, IL. This role plays a vital part in facilitating communication between students, staff, and peers, ensuring students have access to both academic content and school life.

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities using American Sign Language (ASL)
  
• Support communication between students, teachers, and school staff
  
• Maintain the confidentiality of all interpreted information
  
• Adapt signing style to match student language and comprehension levels
  
• Assist in the implementation of students' IEPs as appropriate
  
• Collaborate with educational teams to support student success
  
• Provide interpreting services during extracurricular or school-sponsored events as needed
  

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  
• Understanding of educational interpreting practices and professional ethics
  
• Experience working in a school environment is preferred
