The Humane Society of Henderson County is currently seeking an
Animal Control Officer to respond to calls in the field and to impound animals at the shelter. If you are team oriented and enjoy working with animals, we are seeking a positive, customer-oriented individual to train in an exciting career as an Animal Control Officer. Duties include responding to complaints and patrolling in assigned geographic areas for stray, sick, injured, aggressive, unwanted and abandoned animals, in addition to impoundment of stray and surrendered animals. Animal Control also focuses on Public Education and enforcement of State, County and City laws concerning care, treatment, and control of owned animals. Officers conduct preliminary investigations on reports of Bites, Cruelty and Dangerous or Aggressive animals. Officers assist Police Department, Fire Department and other designated agencies on animal calls. Officers issue notices and citations for violations of city ordinances and testify in court on animal cases. Individuals applying will be required to obtain and maintain Euthanasia Certification and Basic Animal Control State Training within the parameters set forth in State Law. Customer service skills and a self motivated work ethic are a must. This position requires the successful candidate be able to work Monday-Friday (normal business hours), rotating Saturdays, holidays and respond to after hour emergency calls on a rotating basis.Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
