Job Description Works at Alice L. Finley Memorial Center, a 133 acre research and teaching center, located outside West Jefferson, Ohio; cleans & disinfects farm animal stalls & adjacent areas & supporting equipment; feeds, waters and cares for livestock; reports any irregularities in animals' condition, habits, and behavior to director; aids veterinarians in medical care of animals; assists with maintaining records; catches, handles, moves animals using the proper methods; loads/unloads and transports animals to/from Finley Farm to Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Columbus campus; operates farm equipment; assists with maintenance of buildings, lots & pastures. Schedule consists primarily of weekend and holiday hours with some rotating weekdays; hours to be 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Other duties as assigned by the Farm Manager. Minimum Education Required Per Classified Civil Svc Specs or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications Required: Experience handling large animals (food animals and equine) in a farm setting; experience operating farm equipment including transporting of livestock, valid driver's license required; subject to Background Check; able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Potential exposure to various outdoor weather conditions, zoonotic diseases, and animal inflicted injuries; able to lift at least 75 pounds.
