Kiddie Academy of Moorefield Station is an accredited child care/ preschool, serving children between the ages of 6 weeks and 12 years old.
We are looking for an After-School teacher who is also eligible and comfortable driving a preschool bus to/ from elementary schools.
This is an afternoon part-time position 1pm - 6pm. During LCPS holidays, snow days, winter break, and summer break, the teacher will be running the classroom for the full day.As a lead after-school teacher, you will be required to prepare and deliver classroom activities after the children come from elementary schools around 3pm. Effectively communicate with staff and parents, and ensure that the learning environment remains safe at all times. You should also be an excellent role model for our students.
To be successful teacher for these age groups, you should be creative, energetic, and able to encourage self-expression.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a preschool bus or van to transport children from elementary schools.
- Planning and delivering lessons designed to facilitate students' social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Helping students with their school-assigned homework.
- Mediating conflict between students.
- Modelling appropriate behaviors, even when not on duty.
- Ensuring that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning at all times.
- Attending staff meetings.
- Must be able to lift children at times.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Previous experience as a preschool teacher is a plus
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have good time management skills
