The Communication department at Monmouth University is seeking applications for Adjunct Professors for 1-2 sections of Media Literacy, a core Communication requirement that introduces students to a range of critical thinking skills for use when encountering media materials, including television/streaming/video, radio, podcasts, print news, social media, and other Internet resources.
The candidate would be expected to teach 3 - 6 credits per semester and work with students to develop an understanding of the complex functions of the mass media industries and an understanding of the aesthetic, emotional, cognitive, and moral choices involved in interpreting media messages.
Class schedules are determined based on departmental needs and candidate availability. Courses are taught in person at the West Long Branch campus. Adjunct positions remain posted continuously to expand the university's pool of qualified adjunct faculty. Screening of applications will commence when an open position becomes available.
