The South Carolina State Museum is searching for an Accessibility Educator! At SCSM, education isn’t just about teaching - it’s about sparking curiosity, igniting joy, and making meaningful connections. As part of our team, you’ll be more than an instructor; you’ll be a co-creator of dynamic learning experiences that honor individuality and celebrate the wonder of discovery.
Our approach is rooted in play-based, curiosity-driven, and developmentally informed practices. Drawing from philosophies like Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, the Curiosity Approach, and Maker Learning, we foster environments where creativity, exploration, and innovation are not only encouraged - but they’re also essential. We value process over product and believe that authentic learning grows from experimentation, autonomy, and connection.
Whether you're leading a planetarium show, facilitating hands-on STEAM activities, exploring South Carolina’s rich and complex history, or delivering outreach programs across the state, your mission will be the same: to inspire wonder and a lifelong joy of learning in everyone you meet!
