Summary


We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and passionate Quality Control Technician to join our team building certified SLSA aircraft at Van’s Aircraft headquarters in Aurora, Oregon. The Quality Control Technician plays a critical role in supporting daily production. This role demands strong attention to detail, familiarity with Quality control practices, along with a proactive approach to ensure quality standard are maintained while not impacting production output.

Responsibilities


  • Perform inprocess and final inspections of structural, mechanical, and system assemblies in accordance with build instructions and quality criteria.
  • Verify components and subassemblies meet engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Document inspection results and nonconformances in the company�s quality management system (QMS).
  • Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Ensure proper identification and segregation of nonconforming parts and materials.
  • Support the calibration and care of inspection tools and test equipment.
  • Ensuring that work instructions are up to date and in place for each operation.
  • Ensure training program for employees is in place and sign off on operator training.
  • Managing defective material through the Material Review Board (MRB) process and ensuring timely delivery of replacement parts to technicians
  • Compile reports as required by AAD Management
  • Maintain records as required by AAD Management
  • Perform other duties as assigned to maintain production schedules while preventing and responding to quality issues

Skills and Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in Quality, Manufacturing, or Aerospace preferred.
  • Knowledge of aviation hardware standards (MS, NAS, AN, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic, must have grit
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Comfortable working independently and in crossfunctional teams
  • Proactive problemsolver with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. safely and perform repetitive tasks throughout an 810 hour shift

Work Environment


Work is performed in a warehouse and light-manufacturing environment. Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, heat, and cold may occur. The position requires frequent standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive motion.
