Essential Responsibilities:


  • Provide direct nursing care to the residents and oversee direct staff in the provision of care.


  • Interact and communicate with the family members of residents and staff in a patient and professional manner. Can assist in establishing good public relations and staff relations. Can deal with residents, families, and the public on a personal basis.


  • Coordinate admission assessments/ reassessments and develop/ implement resident�s plan of care with team input as well as assure discharge planning is completed as appropriate. Maintain accurate and adequate documentation and records of resident care.


  • Monitor PPD and overtime. Assure appropriate staffing to meet residents� care needs and manage department schedules.


  • Facilitate physician orders, monitor ward clerks, and keep physician, family and staff updated regarding residents� condition.


  • Knows established Policies and Procedures and recommends changes/updates as needed.


  • Handle emergency situations of all types competently.


  • Evaluate and complete nursing staff evaluations and work performance plans as necessary.


Requirements


  • Completion of state approved Registered Nurse Program with a current PA nursing license and basic CPR Certification.
  • BSN and/or previous experience in hospital or nursing home setting preferred but not required.
  • Sense of responsibility, moral integrity, and common sense. Sincere desire to work with elderly with patience and compassion.
  • Be able to perform the physical requirements of the position including ability to lift, turn and reposition residents both alone and with assistance with and without the use of mechanical devices.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Adhere to Wesbury's personnel policies and practices.
