TITLE: Third Grade Interventionist
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Elementary Education Certification
Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE IN: -Experience in analyzing and interpreting reading assessments -Experience in working with small group instruction
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal
SELECTION: The position is filled by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools
SALARY AND
EMPLOYMENT: Salary based on experience and education level per CBOE salary schedule, plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation. Harrison County Professional Salary Schedule
Employment term of 200 days
FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
1. Provide high quality instruction and performance support to students who are at-risk in reading/language arts, math and other core content areas
2. Utilize identified scientific, research-based interventions focused on group and individual student needs
3. Participate in universal screening, progress monitoring, diagnostic assessment, and analysis of the data to identify student in need of tiered intervention, and benchmarking
4. Maintain data-based documentation of universal screening, tiered intervention, progress monitoring, diagnostic assessment, and benchmarking
5. Use data to design individualized learning plans and progress-monitor student achievement.
6. Maintain accurate and complete reports and documentation completed and submitted in a timely manner as required
7. Collaborate to align interventions with Tier 1 instruction and ensure consistency in mathematical/ELA language, models, and approved curriculum
8. Work with teachers on the implementation of small group instruction in Reading/Math.
9. Assist classroom teachers in correctly grouping students for reading and small group instruction
10. Push in classrooms and work with small groups of students
11. Work with teachers in analyzing student data and monitoring student progress
12. Understands and interprets test data in order to improve learning
13. Work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff and parents to share knowledge
14. Maintain the confidentiality of school and student records
15. Attend all meetings and professional development activities as assigned
16. Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibility as the Superintendent or immediate supervisor may from time to time assign
