Position Summary:


The School-Based Mental Health Clinician provides evidence-based, trauma-informed mental health services to students within a school setting. This position is responsible for delivering individual and group therapy, conducting assessments, collaborating with school personnel and families, and supporting the emotional well-being of students to promote academic success and overall wellness. The clinician serves as a critical bridge between school systems and behavioral health services.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to students based on identified needs.
  • Conduct mental health assessments, including intake evaluations and risk assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with students, families, and school staff.
  • Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, administrators, and other staff to support student success and appropriate interventions.
  • Participate in school-based meetings such as IEP/504, MTSS, and student support teams.
  • Respond to mental health crises and provide crisis intervention and stabilization.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation in accordance with agency and legal standards.
  • Provide referrals and coordinate care with community providers and other support services.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
  • Follow all ethical, legal, and agency guidelines for confidentiality and professional conduct.


Required Qualifications:


  • Master�s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a clinical or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development, and school systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders including students, families, and school personnel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) or other languages relevant to the school community.
  • Experience providing school-based therapy or working within school systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.


Work Environment:


  • Majority of services provided onsite in school buildings.
  • Occasional meetings and training held at agency office or virtually.
  • Flexible schedule may be required to accommodate student needs or family sessions.


Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to travel between school sites as necessary.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or move throughout the day in various educational settings.


Job Types: Full-time, Part-time


Pay: $37.00 - $42.00 per hour
